This Desert Ironwood wood ring has a gorgeous, and unique grain, running from black heartwood to crimson red sapwood.
Desert Ironwood has long been heralded as the strongest timber in the world. It's been used as everything from ball bearings in steam engines on ships, to hardened wheels for antiquated pulleys.
It's an amazing timber that literally sinks in water.
Each piece of timber is personalized, and as unique as each wearer.
The timber is paired with a semi-matte brushed titanium core. It's light and comfortable. I hand grind a comfort fit onto the interior of each ring, to allow for finger expansion and contraction during daily activities.
This design features a soft chamfer on the edge of the titanium; for aesthetics and comfort.
All timber is infused in a vacuum with acrylic resin. Titanium rings with inlays are sealed with Titanium Aircraft Adhesive, and each ring is coated, and pressurized with marine boat epoxy, to make for the most durable, and water resistant ring possible. Finally the rings are polished with beeswax.
I use jewelers grade 5 6AL-4V titanium in every ring.
Each size is available.
